A new feature: IMO -Product Reviews:

I am going to start a new feature on this blog called IMO (In My Opinion) where I will do product reviews for items we have recently had on sale or free with ECB's or RR's.  I think it's a good idea to let people know how things work, taste, feel, smell, etc, because no one wants to waste money on products that they won't ever be happy with.  I will try this feature, maybe once a week, to see how it goes, & then decide if it will become a permanent fixture on the site.  Lmk if you like this or not.

Today I will be reviewing two items, because both of these products have recently been BOGO 50% off  (at CVS & Walgreens) & have had coupons + ECB's & RR's to use which brought the pricing down to less than half of the regular price.  Since these products pretty much do the same job, I thought I would let you know which one did the BEST job.

The only difference in the actual products is the fact that the Kiss brand has real glitter lines that have a texture to them & the Sally Hansen is just like a polish -smooth.  I applied both of these products to my toenails & wore each of them at least one week.

When comparing these two products, the Sally Hansen product wins -hands down!  It was MUCH easier to apply!  The "polish" film was a little delicate to work with at first, but once I got the hang of it, it went on very smoothly & never wrinkled, if I was careful.  If my nail was a little smaller than the film, I was able to use my finger nail to push the film right up to my cuticle, then just remove the excess.  The film also wrapped around the end of my toenail & then easily broke off with very little effort or filing.  The film stayed on my nails for over a week & never wrinkled, bubbled or otherwise came off, until I removed it.  It was relatively easy to remove with regular polish remover.  You did have to use a little extra effort to get it all off, compared to regular nail polish.

The Kiss product, on the other hand, was very difficult to apply.  I guess because it has the glitter texture to it, it is more like an actual "sticker".  None of the shapes of the stickers were my toenail shape, they were either too big or too small.  If I used a big one, the sticker was so thick that you could not break it & there is no way to file it when it's next to your cuticle. I never felt like the edges were smooth.  On the end of my nail I had to really file it to get it to break off & it left the edge of my toenail exposed, making it look "unfinished".  The cuticle edge of the sticker began to bubble after about 3 days.  I removed them after one week, but they don't come off with polish remover, I had to peel them off!  Not only was it a pain to have to have my leg up all crazy & uncomfortable, but I had to peel each one off slowly!  Even when I did, it took a layer off of my actual toenail on one of my toes!!  I couldn't believe it, now my big toenail is rough & very thin in one spot!

I would definitely recommend the Sally Hansen product again, it is by far the best of these two!

**The opinions of this article are completely my own.  I was in no way compensated for my opinion, nor was I given these products to review.  I purchased these products on my own & made this review independently.**

  1. I like the product review idea! I have not tried either product so I cannot add my two cents about them, but I've got to admit I hadn't thought about using them for toenails as the picture is of a hand.

  2. I like this idea too! I seldom buy something I haven't 'heard' about unless its FREE... and well, not everything is. Excited to see what's coming up next.

  3. I'm glad y'all liked this idea, I am always up for suggestions if you have anything in mind that you want reviewed, so be sure to leave a comment if you have an idea. I was thinking about doing a review on the Suave Keratin hair straightening stuff next (because my hair is a frizzy mess & this humidity is killing me)!
